See you in Sioux Falls, April 18-19, 2008!

We have scheduled to speak and exhibit at the 5th annual Homeschool Regional Conference April 18-19, 2008. It is hosted by the Sioux Empire Christian Home Educators. This year's keynote speaker is Kevin Swanson, who will be speaking on the topic of 'Cultivating Vision.' It will be located at First Evangelical Free Church in Sioux Falls, SD. For more details, http://www.seche.org. The conference coordinator is hoping to attract families from Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and this will be THE South Dakota homeschool conference this year.

Lord willing, we are offering the following sessions:

Dave - Education of Kings The goal of this presentation is making God's Word not only the foundation of our children's education, but the focus. We will look at God's plan for educating the kings of Israel for some insights on how to best educate our children.

Dave - College Considerations for Christians Is college the best way to prepare our children to serve the least, the last and the lost? How should our goals as christians affect our decision for college?

Debbie - Don't Quit! For mothers. Does the Lord intend there to be more to homeschooling than homeschooling? We will discuss God's promises to us as a basis for encouraging ourselves and others in our calling as homeschooling moms.

Debbie - Ways with Words Debbie will share how her family has developed a somewhat language-artsy lifestyle, enabling the children to learn, use and even minister through writing. This is kind of a show and tell format, covering what the Kleins have used for pre-readers and up.

Zachary and siblings - Missionaries & Martyrs: Reasons and Resources for Study This presentation includes music, visuals, and short biographical sketches of inspirational believers. Attendees will be given a list of recommended resources.

We are really looking forward to visiting with friends in our old stomping grounds!

Hello Debbie. I was wondering, if we were to go to this conference, how much is it? Would there be sleeping accommodations available? With families or hotels? We've never been to a homeschool anything (nor have we been to South Dakota) and I think it would be a good experience.

Please let me know about lodging, food, prices and anything else you think we should know.

Jennifer,

The details for the conference are on the website, so I don't really have much more information on that. You can contact Randy Stofferahn at 605-254-3328 for more details.
